Operator question
Can yesterday’s sales show today’s prep order?
We record sales by menu at close, but every morning we still debate what to prep first. What else is needed to turn sales records into today’s prep order?

Yesterday’s sales are a starting signal, not today’s production quantity. Add today’s bookings, day-of-week differences, usable stock on hand, and anything already prepared to expose the real shortfall.
Translate menu demand into linked prep items and calculate how many servings one batch yields. Only after subtracting usable stock from the total requirement can you decide how many batches to make.
Set the order by bottlenecks and holding life, not by sales alone. Start long tasks shared by several menu items early, and leave short-life or finish-to-order work until later.
When sales records, linked menus, ingredients, and prep runs live in the same YoriPrep app flow, tomorrow’s comparison becomes much easier. Seeing why one item comes first before starting the prep run is where the workflow becomes genuinely engaging.
- Combine sales with today’s bookings and usable stock
- Convert menu demand into prep items and required batches
- Schedule shared bottlenecks first and short-life work later
